A certain Moses Yakubu and his wife in Akunnu Akoko, were on Sunday morning kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
According to reports, the couple where heading to Akure, Ondo state capital, from Okene, Kogi state, for their wedding ceremony, when they alongside some family members were kidnapped.
Mr Ahmed Amodu, father of the bride who spoke with newsmen confirmed the incident, saying the bride and her sister have however been released by the kidnappers few hours after their abduction.
He revealed that the groom and two others including two males and two females are still in the custody of the gunmen,adding that no ransom has been demanded yet.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, also confirmed the incident saying his men have already swung into action to rescue the five victims from the kidnappers.
