Calvin E. Tyler Jr.

Calvin E. Tyler enrolled in a historically Black College in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1961, formally known as Morgan State College. Tyler, unable to fund his tuition, dropped out of school and became a UPS driver. He did not let his setbacks hold him down. He went as far as becoming senior vice president of operations before his retirement in 1998. Mr. Tyler did not forget his roots. He understood the importance of education and has been helping the less privileged to fund school tuition since 2002 with his wife. His latest contribution to the education system is his $20 million donations to the school he dropped out of nearly 60 years ago. Would you not agree that this selfless act qualifies as an act of kindness.
