Tailor Kidnaps Two Year Old In Imo

A 2-year old, Ikechukwu Nwachukwu, has been kidnapped from his parents’ home in Umuihim village Imo State. The boy was allegedly kidnapped by a tailor in the village named Ifeanyi Anyanwu.

According to Mr Remigus Nwachukwu, an uncle of the stolen child:

“The child woke up that Saturday morning and was strolling within the compound around 7.00am when this Ifeanyi came and held Ikechukwu by the hand. People who saw him thought it was normal until about 9.30 that morning when the boy’s mother started looking for him to eat his breakfast.

“The woman didn’t suspect anything when she learnt that her son was with Ifeanyi. But when the time started pushing towards 10 and 11 that morning, everybody was alarmed and we eventually learnt that Ifeanyi was not at home.  His wife and only daughter who had been at home since Monday were not at home again. It was then that people started looking for Ifeanyi and the little boy.

Nwachukwu added that suspect who is now on the run has since turned off his cellphone.

State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, confirming the incident said:

“I am aware of the abduction. I have ordered the transfer of the matter from the Mbano Division to the State CID.

“We have the photograph and all the details of the suspect. He can run, but he cannot hide for a long time. This crime is a huge one and we are not resting until we nab the suspect and have the child reunited with his family.”
