An Osun Magistrate Court has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Sulaiman Awokunle, to six months in jail for allegedly stealing a ram kept for Sallah by one Saka Idowu.
Police prosecutor, Elisa Olusegun, told the court that Awokunle stole the ram valued at N 25, 000 at about 6 AM inside Onunrin’s compound in Iree.
According to Olousegun, contravened Section 383 of the law
Awokunle pleaded guilty to the one count-charge of theft leveled against him and pleaded for mercy.
Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba however convicted Awokunle and sentenced him to six months in jail. He was however lenient giving the accused an option of N 4, 000 in the spirit of Eid el-Kabir.
